Called down: Flemington’s Saturday meet was abandoned as a result of severe heat
RACING Victoria has abandoned tomorrow’s Flemington conference as a result of the heatwave including all the other activities over the state.
They said the weather forecast shows it's going to be too hot each morning to perform and not safe for horses.
Colac and Wangaratta are also abandoned.
“The weather condition across Victoria tomorrow is severe and now we took a view, after examining modern forecast, it is in the desires of most that people perhaps not carry out any race group meetings, ” RV leader, Bernard Saundry said.
“We have an obligation to guard the and safety of most members, both real human and equine, along side staff and patrons, in severe climate conditions including that forecast the next day.
“It’s a regrettable scenario for groups and clients who had been getting ready to gather and commemorate Christmas time at racetracks across Victoria, but our company is not willing to just take any dangers in these extreme conditions.
“With a hectic schedule of battle meetings across the Christmas-New 12 months duration, including eight on Boxing Day, we think you will find alternative opportunities for ponies to contend in over the next fourteen days.
“That said, we shall review the rushing programming for the next fortnight and include events to existing conferences where required to accommodate those impacted by tomorrow’s abandonments.”
RV had rescheduled the Flemington group meetings to begin at 10.30am and complete at 2.45pm.
Colac would be to begin at 11.07am.
Wangaratta would be a twilight meeting beginning at 5.01
Yea picnics have now been abandoned.
